Dr. Akhtar Hameed Khan Memorial Award for 2013
Three books were nominated / recommended for the Akhter Hameed Khan Memorial Award for the best book on Social Sciences for the year 2013,(Rural/Urban Development). The best book was selected for final selection: Indus Water and Social Change: The Evolution and Transition of Agrarian Society in Pakistan by Saiyid Ali Naqvi. Published by Oxford University Press Karachi.
The Council of Social Sciences, Pakistan with financial support of National Rural Support Programme conferred Dr. Akhter Hameed Khan Memorial Award of Rs. 50,000 for the year 2013 at a Centennial birthday celebration held at SCEE, Auditorium, National University of Sciences and Technology, Islamabad on October 23, 2014.
