I don't know about you, but one of the biggest reasons I try to avoid Southwest is because of their seating policy. I hate the free for all that ensues when boarding.
People put backpacks in seats to act like they are taken, and if you are unlucky enough to board toward the end, you are almost guaranteed to have to take a middle seat.
I like having my seat assigned. I like picking it out weeks ahead of time, knowing that I will be comfortable in the aisle.
But sometimes I HAVE to fly Southwest, as my home airport has a lot of connections that only Southwest flies.
But FINALLY, they will be implementing assigned seats (read more here about the press release).
Is anyone else EXCITED?!
