The Duty Free saves me money.... lol

This isn't girl math, I promise.. but the duty free at the airport AND on the plane honestly saves me so much money, especially living in Mexico.
I used to think it was a scam or a tourist trap and now I save up a list of things to get at the duty free.

In Mexico, there is a huge tariff of cosmetics and brand names. I bought a face cream on my Emirates flight duty free cart that was 37% CHEAPER than at the department store in Mexico. And even though I was coming back from Europe to the States on that flight, there were a few other things at the airport duty free that worked out to be 15% cheaper than I could get them at Sephora.

FOR REAL, don't turn your nose up at the duty free, you can save a ton of money on things you would be buying anyway.

This is a great tip! I hadn't really shopped at the duty free before either but when we visited some friends in Norway they told us to get any alcohol we wanted at the airport because the country taxes their alcohol like crazy.

Plus it's great for last minute souveneirs or alcohol that you don't have to put in a checked bag! As long as it is in a sealed bag you can go through customs and TSA with larger bottles of liquor. Check it out on the TSA site here.

YES! I wait and buy all my make up/cosmetics from the duty free while i'm travelling. On my last TUI and EasyJet flights I guess no one was buying anything so they announced an additional 20% off in-flight brochure prices (which were already discounted at duty free price) which made everything even cheaper.

OMG that is SUCH a good deal! Exactly.... makeup is so heavily marked up as it is, buying it on a plane makes it so much more affordable in EVERY situation. I honestly think people believe it's the same price or higher, and that's why not as many people use this service
